Merry Meet One and All!
The British Isles are peppered with Megaliths, Monoliths and Menhirs, those wondrous standing stones of the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. White Witch travelled to The Devil's Arrows in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, where three huge stones remain from an original four or five that dominated the landscape in ancient times. In common with other Pagan sites, the fair of St. Barnabas was held near the stones on Midsummer's Day until the 18th century.

There is a legend from 1721 that the Devil threw the stones at the nearby Christian settlement of Aldborough shouting "Borobrigg keep out o' way, for Aldborough town I will ding down!" - however, the stones fell short and landed near Boroughbridge instead! The stones align with the Southernmost Summer Moon-rise, and there may be a ritual connection with recently discovered post holes to the North. These awe inspiring stones continue to vibrate with the voices of long dead ancestors - We highly recommend everyone visit our ancient sites and keep our traditions alive!
