Bastet

Bastet, the Protector Goddess of Lower Egypt - representated as a woman with the head of a cat, or as a cat goddess.  As protector, she was defender of the Pharoah and the chief male deity, Ra (the solar deity) - gaining her the titles 'Lady of Flame' and 'Eye of Ra'.  Early images of Bast were created from a local stone, which we know as 'Ala-bast-er'.  This wonderful 12" resin figurine is exquisitely detailed.  A wonderful item!

Nuit Wall Plaque

Nuit Wall Plaque

“I am Nuit, and I have come so that I may enfold and protect you from all things evil.”

Our favourite sculptor, Steve Trickett, excels himself in this sumptuous 10" x 10 1/2" portrayal of Nuit, 'Queen of Infinite Space', 'Our Lady of the Stars', and 'Lady of the Starry Heaven'.  As ever, wonderful detailing from her rich blue skin to her immaculate wig she is emblazoned with a multitude of tiny glass orbs; every inch a depiction of the starry night sky. Nuit gives birth to Ra the Sun-god daily and he passes over her body during the day before being swallowed at night, only to be reborn the next morning. Speaker of Crowley's first chaper of The Book of the Law, she represents the All, pure potentiality both as it flowers into the physical universe and as it resides beyond embodiment 'Invoke me under my stars! Love is the law, love under will.'
